The Data Lab Community guidelines

Published on October 1, 2024

We need your help to keep The Data Lab Community as valuable, authentic, and safe as possible.

Here are our guidelines:

  • Be supportive. Encourage and support your fellow members. No one here is looking for criticism, cynicism, or judgement - we can get those things on the rest of the internet!
  • Share generously. Your stories and experiences may be exactly what another member needs to hear today to solve a problem or seize an opportunity.
  • Give more than you take. A great community is made by members who are more focussed on on helping each other than helping themselves.
  • Be constructive. We’re here to push each other forward and lift each other up. Find ways to help each other think bigger, reframe challenges, and stay curious.
  • Context and relevance. Please try to use the features correctly and give context to your posts. Try to start conversations, discussions and explain the thinking behind what you share.
  • Don’t spam, over-promote or use the community as a sales channel. The community exists as a place to learn, not to sell.
  • Don’t troll or bully. You can respectfully challenge ideas, but you cannot attack the person. Everyone should feel safe and secure within our community. If someone sends you a message that contradicts this guideline please let us know.

Hopefully, these should be easy agreements to abide by. If you think you’ll be unable to abide by these guidelines, let us know and we can remove you from the community.

If there's anything you think we've missed, please let us know! We'd love to hear from you.
